Minneapolis to Denver
Minneapolis to Denver
One long drive and step of faith later…
We have made it to Denver!
We are settling in to our apartment and reflecting on the week, feeling blown away by how God is providing for us in the move. We are renting an apartment with a landlord who previously was on Cru staff, Maddie started work at Children’s Hospital Colorado, we’ve met new friends and have had old ones celebrate our arrival. We’ve seen my percentage-raised shoot from 64% to 76% in less than 2 weeks, largely through a significant and unexpected donation that came through the morning we left Minneapolis. Praise God!
Moving out here without being 100% funded has been a step of faith for us, however, we believe that timing was right and we both felt strongly that God was telling us to go. We were encouraged by our church the night before we left through studying Luke 12:13-34 and have been meditating on the passage since, specifically verses 22-24:
“And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!”
School starts at the University of Denver (my assigned campus) on September 13, and while I will being working hard to finish raising the last 24% by that date, we know that God will provide in His timing, in the way that brings Him the most glory.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support thus far, we are feeling full and encouraged by our supporters, friends and and family. Please reach out if you know of anyone who I can contact who may be interested in hearing about this ministry and my support raising.
Prayer requests
New ministry partners and Lord-willing, fully funded by September 13. We have $1,500/month left to raise.
That Maddie and I could get plugged in quickly to a local church
As we begin a new school year, please pray that students would see the need for God in their lives and desire true relationship with Him. Pray specifically for those searching for faith at DU, that they would connect with us or another resource to learn of the hope we have in Jesus.
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
